Mike V on the Collaboration:
I’ve been a Bruce Springsteen fan, follower and supporter for a long time.
He is a poet and a hero.
More than just the soundtrack to my entire adult life, Bruce’s music has been the very dawn in me.
Through my darkest moments, Bruce Springsteen’s music has been with me and has always guided me back into the morning light.
Into the beauty and the possibility of every new day.
Inspiriting the idea that through some conscious endeavor I could elevate my life.
I’ve seen more live Bruce Springsteen shows than I can count.
All those nights, in all those different cities, through all the years, I’ve let myself get lost in the music and the moment, to always find a better me waiting there some 3 hours or more later.
There’s nothing like a Bruce Springsteen show.
He is peerless.
I recently saw him in New York City, at Madison Square Garden, and at 66 years old he gave more of himself than any performer I’ve ever seen, of any age.
That night he delivered three and a half hours of spirited, heart felt, raucous Rock n Roll.
He’s hands down the very best songwriter, performer, guitar player and band leader in all of Rock n Roll — In it’s entire history.
More than that, he personifies the very best of what Rock n Roll stands for.
Taking the good and leaving all the rest.
Danny Clinch and I met and became friends at a Bruce Springsteen concert in Los Angeles in 2005.
We connected over family, New Jersey roots and the music of Bruce Springsteen.
Danny’s photography and documentary film work has inspired me through the years.
He has the kind of rapport with his subjects that you just don’t see or feel very often.
They trust him.
He captures something deeper.
His photographs of Bruce Springsteen have really resonated.
Capturing Bruce as he moved into the post 9/11 world and his music took on a renewed and impassioned focus.
Danny was there and he captured the man and the band as they launched into the second half of their careers, and he has been there throughout as they have done a distance that no other band or performer ever has.
Every day is history and we get to see so much of it though Danny’s lens.
